Join us on Thursday, January 24th at 1:30 p.m. for the Water Efficiency Network meeting featuring Jill Boullion, Executive Director at Bayou Land Conservancy.

Topic: The Bayou Land Conservancy (BLC) preserves land along streams for the purpose of controlling flooding, cleaning water and preserving wildlife.  This presentation will provide information about conservation easements, how they are used as a tool for permanent land protection and who uses them, and the benefits land protection provide our community.  We will also discuss BLC's area of conservation focus and potential changes in funding sources for the permanent protection of these important lands.

About the Speaker:  Jill Boullion, Professional Community and Economic Developer (PCED), became Executive Director at Bayou Land Conservancy (BLC) in September 2016.  Prior to that, she served for almost 6 years as the ED of a Houston-area watershed organization, Greens Bayou Coalition, following 2 decades experience as owner of a marketing communications firm.  Ms. Boullion is certified through the national Community Development Council and is passionate about working with diverse groups of stakeholders to advance community goals.  She especially enjoys working with volunteers and helping them connect their skills and enthusiasm to protecting land.  BLC is an accredited land trust formed in 1996, and preserves nearly 14,000 acres at 60 preserves in the greater Houston region.  BLC focuses on preserving land along streams in the 13 waterways that feed Lake Houston, the primary source of drinking water for millions of people in our region.
